  2. 評估個案的內在事件與其周遭的環境。
  3. 確使個案覺察衝動或自我傷害的意圖或行為。
III.提供支持、真心接納
  1. 讓個案感受到一個有力的支持保證。
  2. 以字詞、聲音或肢體語言表達對個案的關心、正向、非被動、不做價值判斷、接納等態度。
行動 IV.尋找可能的解決途徑
  1. 協助個案探索目前實際可行的問題解決方法。
  2. 促使個案找尋立即能獲得的環境支持、因應機制或正向思考。
V.與個案一起擬訂計劃 協助個案開始去擬訂及發展出一個符合實際解決問題的短期計劃，並以自己能夠瞭解的行動步驟，去找尋相關有用的因應資源。
VI.獲得個案願意投入計劃與行動的確實承諾 幫助個案去執行與落實自己所擬定出的行動計劃步驟，以使能真正解決其引發危機事件的困擾或問題。

危機處置 長期心理諮商及心理治療
診斷 快速三向度(triage)的危機評估。 完整的診斷性衡鑑。
計劃 針對個案特定問題，規劃出解決的處置方案，並且主要聚焦在緩和危機症狀的立即性需求。 針對個案性格問題，規劃出綜合性處遇計劃，並且主要聚焦在個案的長期性需求。
方法 運用「時限短期諮商」的理論與技術，以立即控制與阻遏危機個案的創傷。 短期、中期、長期治療理論與技術之系統性運用。

危機干預過於強調內部情緒反應，而忽視了社會支持系統的建立和維護。它簡化了人們生活中的複雜問題，並根據介入者的假設來定義社會問題。它也可能導致社會問題的行為化和個人化，而不是挑戰社會壓迫或其他社會問題的根源。它還被公共機構和政府濫用，作為一種技術性的應對，而不是提供更深入和長期的服務。<ref>Payne, Malcolm.
